Hristo Alexiev: From today for hour and a half from Stara Zagora to Burgas by train

From today, the travelling time by train between Stara Zagora and Burgas will be performed for hour and a half. That stated the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Hristo Alexiev during the inauguration ceremony of the last two rehabilitated sections between Plovdiv to Burgas. Practically by that, the overall project for rehabilitation of the railway line between Plovdiv and Burgas is completed.

The Minister stated that in this programme period of OP “Transport and Transport Infrastructure” will be also modernized the section between Skutare and Mihaylovo and will be constructed signaling and telecommunication systems along the whole direction between Plovdiv and Burgas. Thus, we will guarantee better security and safety of the railway transport, said Alexiev.

“By five years the overall direction from the Serbian border through Plovdiv to Burgas is to be completely modernized, interoperable and fulfilling the European standards”, pointed Minister Hristo Alexiev.

Earlier today, before journalists in Stara Zagora, Minister Alexiev has commented that within this programme period of OPTTI are envisaged 7 million BGN for modernization of the railway station in the city. There is expected the renewal of the station building to start in 2019.  Under his words, in the project are also included the railway stations Chirpan and Nova Zagora.
