The approval level of OPT 2007-2013 reaches 80% at the end of the first programme period

The sociological surveys, conducted during the first programme period of Operational Programme on Transport 2007-2013, show that at the end of the period the level of approval reaches 80% among the Bulgarian population, aged 15 + years.

This show the results from the Summary Analytical Report about the results of the implementation of the Communication Plan of the Operational Programme on Transport 2007-2013, that has been presented from the sociologist, Mr.Venellin Stoychev, during the Monitoring Committee of OPTTI 2014-2020, on 28-29 November 2016 in Boyana.

The Communication Plan of the Operational Programme on Transport for the period 2007-2013 has been created in line with the European regulations and comprises of certain number of measures for informing the citizens about the meaning, the goals and the achievements of the Operational Programme, including presentations, discussions, round tables, trainings, seminars, photo-exhibitions, open days, information events, events for starting and finishing the projects, etc.

In the Summary Report presented, a profound analysis of the effect achieved as a result of the various communication activities, has been made. Due to the fact that the some of the construction works, as well as some of the communication activities of OPT 2007-2013 projects continue till the end of 2015, the Analytical report covers the period from 2007 to 2015.

The main conclusion from the Report is that the media monitoring, the sociological surveys and the researches of the inner target groups show that the goals of the Communication Plan of OPT are being achieved and even outreached. The awareness, approval and information levels about the OPT projects, as well as about the sources of financing are extremely high.

In favour of this statement, data from several sociological surveys on the Communication Plan has been presented.

The data shows that the difference between the so called “initial sociological survey”, conducted in the start of the Programme in 2008, and the data from 2013 are significant. While in 2008 three-fourth of the citizens stated that they are not acquainted with OPT, in 2012 the share of people who has never heard about the Operational Programme decreases to one third from all, and in 2013 – under one-fourth.

The approval level of the Operational Programme also increases significantly after the realization of series of targeted measures for information and publicity – from 64% in 2012 to 80% in 2013.
