The schedule of the contractor envisages the completion of the construction of Vratza bypass by the end of June, said Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Petar Kirov during today’s inspection of the sight.

“The progress of the projects is almost 54%, the asphalting works yet to be carried out”, said Mr. Kirov. The schedule shows that a lot of the work is to be done and the contractor has to put efforts to complete the sight in time, by 31 May 2014.

The project value is over 17 million levs and it includes the new route of almost 7 km, which encompasses three crossroads, a subway, a junction and a railway crossing over the railway line VidinSofia. “The sight will contribute to diverting the traffic out of the town, as it has augmented following the commissioning of New Europe Bridge at Vidin – Kalafat”, added the Deputy Minister.

The first Lot of the construction of the bypass was completed in 1986-1987 at the total length of 8 km. Under OP Transport the project was granted financing and the construction works of the second Lot, at the total length of 6.82 km, began in June 2013.
