Ivaylo Moskovski: Sofia Metro is among the 10 most successful projects in Europe

According to a ranking of the European Commission, the Sofia Metro is in the top 10 of the most successful infrastructure projects funded by the EU structural funds. This was announced today during an inspection of the construction works of the metro station, which is being built on Bulgaria Blvd. The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski, the Mayor of Sofia Municipality Yordanka Fandakova and the Executive Director of „Metropolitan“ EAD Stoyan Bratoev did the inspection.

So far, we have invested BGN 250 million under OP Transport and Transport Infrastructure and the progress of the first stage of the third metro line is almost 50%, minister Moskovski said after the inspection. The assessment of our European partners is a clear sign that we adhere to all the standards of implementation, ecology, added value of the projects, as well as the cost-effectiveness ratio of the project, the minister said. For the construction of the most difficult section, we use four different methods, which is another proof of the professionalism we are working with. Currently, this is the most successful project finance by the Operational Program and for me the best news is that everything is being implemented on schedule, despite the daily difficulties of this type of construction, Ivaylo Moskovski added.
