Experts from 8 EU Member States in co-operation with European Commission co-constructed State Aid Map on Transport Sector

Managing Authority (MA) of Operational programme on Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014-2020 (OPTTI) in co-operation with TAIEX REGIO PEER 2 PEER held a workshop on creation a State Aid map on Transport sector. The host of two-day event, which took place on 15 and 16 November in Sofia, was Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.

Experts with experience in the field of transport policies, as well as experts with a contribution to the creation of a similar State Aid Map for RDI participated in the discussions. Representatives of the MA of OPTTI, Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Ministry of Finance as well as experts from Spain, Germany, Hungary, Poland, France, Slovenia and Romania discussed on the challenges and opportunities of the State aid map on the Transport sector.

As a result of the joint work maps covering maritime, air, rail and road transport were prepared. These maps are an important tool, which will allow Member States to apply appropriate use of State Aid rules for projects co-financed with European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF).
